mid 19th century, very rare Britannia Rules the Main Sailor wool work with Britannia in the center holding a trident with a royal lion below her and a masted ship on one side and a lighthouse on the other, stitched with face and arms of Britannia painted on board and a helmet of Britannia decorated with beads along with decoration on her neck, sight: 13 1/2 x 18 1/2 in., frame size: 18 1/4 x 23 1/4 in.

Woolwork in a birdseye maple frame. Good condition with no visible holes or wool loss noticed.
